Silas Bensing, INCE Bd. Cert., Associate Principal

Since joining the firm in 2008, Silas has been based out of our New York office and has consulted on projects involving rail transit systems, environmental noise, ground-borne vibration, and interior building noise and vibration control. He is experienced in techniques and instrumentation for obtaining field measurements of noise and vibration from transportation sources, construction activities, and HVAC equipment. He is proficient in the use of GIS and noise modeling software such as SoundPLAN, CadnaA, and TNM for the calculation, assessment, and mapping of railway and other environmental noise sources. He also conducts computer modeling for room acoustics and speech intelligibility of public-address systems. He has extensive experience working on projects within the City of New York and is an approved noise consultant under the NYC DEP noise code. He is a board-certified member with the Institute of Noise Control Engineering (INCE), a formal recognition of the highest professional capability in the practice of Noise Control Engineering.
